Introduction
We built these outdoor infrared heaters for the plant floor—the kind of place where rain, dust, and wind aren’t special events. They’re just part of the day. So we started with a tough halogen infrared lamp and paired it with a lead wire sealing system that’s actually meant for industrial life. The whole point is simple: keep delivering steady heat, without the failures that show up when moisture gets in and the wiring gets cooked by high temperatures.
What’s really going on under the hood
These lamps run on 400V, and that’s a deliberate choice. The 300mm tube packs a lot of heat into a small footprint. High voltage means lower current for the same wattage, which lets you use smaller conductors and cuts down on voltage drop across longer runs. And the 300mm length? It’s sized to drop right into standard outdoor mounting setups, so you get a tight, focused hot zone where you need it. At 2500W, the heat comes on fast. That’s great when you need quick response, but it also means the internal conductors and seals are under serious thermal and electrical stress—every single time the unit runs.
Materials and design choices that matter
Inside the tube, the halogen cycle helps keep the filament clean at high temps, so output stays stable over the life of the lamp. The quartz envelope is coated to manage infrared emission and stand up to the environment, not get etched away by it. When it comes to the lead wire entry, we didn’t lean on flimsy adhesive blobs. We used an OEM-grade sealing approach: high-temperature ceramic feed-throughs and compression gaskets. That stops hot air and moisture from sneaking in along the conductors. The R7s connector gives you a secure, aligned termination that installs quickly with standard tools. And the sealing collar at the base? It keeps water from tracking into the socket. It’s the kind of detail that makes the difference between “fine for now” and “fine for years.”
What it feels like on the job
Out in the real world, you wire this IP65 heater up and it stays sealed—even after repeated heating and cooling cycles. The sealed lead system resists getting brittle and cracking, so the lamp doesn’t die from internal shorts caused by degraded insulation. The 300mm tube is compact enough to drop straight into existing brackets. And because it’s 400V, you lose less copper over distance, which helps keep things efficient. That said, the high heat density is real. You’ll want proper machine cooling and thermal management around the fixture to keep nearby components in their safe temperature range.
The honest part
High-wattage infrared heat is fast and focused—no question. But it pushes the whole assembly hard. If your control panel isn’t ventilated to match, the internal temperature can climb and shorten the life of components. Plan your heat path first. Then match the heater to the setup.
What we stand behind
IP65 protection and OEM-grade lead sealing aren’t fancy extras. They’re the foundation of outdoor reliability. They stop moisture from getting in and prevent high-temperature wire failure, so your process keeps running without surprise downtime.
