When we build infrared heaters for bathrooms, we start with a basic need: they can’t short out the moment things get steamy. That’s why we go with an IP55 rating. But if you’re designing a space for babies or toddlers, you run into a different problem. It’s not about the heat—it’s about the light. Standard short-wave lamps are basically spotlights. They blast this blinding white light that’s way too harsh for sensitive little eyes. Nobody wants a baby screaming because the heater feels like a interrogation lamp. Fixing the glare To stop that piercing light, we tweak the spectrum. We use specific filament alloys and quartz coatings to filter out the harsh stuff. The result? A soft, dim glow. You still get all that cozy warmth on your skin, but the light hitting your eyes stays gentle. It’s the difference between staring at a lightbulb and feeling the sun on your back. Dealing with the damp Water is the enemy here. To keep the electronics safe, we seal the chassis and use high-temp gaskets. We make sure the cable entries are tight so moisture doesn’t sneak in and fry the terminals. But here’s the thing: when you seal a box that tight, the air can’t move as easily. To keep the internals from overheating, we beef up the heat sinks. Just a heads-up—if you’re tucking these into a tight ceiling void, give them some breathing room. If they can’t breathe, the components will burn out way faster than they should. Getting it installed We designed these to be simple drop-in replacements. No need to overcomplicate the wiring; we want you in and out quickly. One quick tip: double-check that your circuit breaker can handle the initial surge when the lamps kick in. If your voltage dips too low, the heat density drops. You’ll end up with a room that just won’t get warm, which defeats the whole purpose.
